Solucient Recognizes Excellence in Performance Improvement with Insight Awards

EVANSTON, IL – May 25, 2005 — Solucient recognized 12 hospitals for excellence in performance improvement with the presentation of the first Insight Awards at the 2005 Solucient Client Conference, held at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Fla. Winners of the newly-created Insight Awards were announced during a May 12 awards dinner sponsored by Modern Healthcare.

The 12 clients that received Insight Awards used one or more of Solucient's products and/or services to achieve success at their organizations, including improving patient care and outcomes, becoming more efficient or improving their outreach to the community.

The awards were given in five categories: clinical, operational, planning and marketing, professional services and overall performance. The winners in each category are listed below.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

The winner of the Insight Award for Overall Performance, Bay Medical Center of Panama City, Fla., used numerous Solucient tools and services to reach their goals, including HBSI EXPLORE®, ConditionView™, Solucient's Core Measures Solution, ACTION O-I™, and Solucient's 100 Top Hospitals® benchmarking studies.

Bay Medical Center used Solucient's products and data to support and set goals for their Stroke Team, reducing costs per patient and length of stay. They were also able to decrease mortality rates in their acute myocardial infarction patients. In addition, Bay Medical Center used Solucient data as the foundation for an interdisciplinary approach to obtain certification as a Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations Center of Excellence for acute myocardial infarction and stroke.
