Announcing the Thomson 100 Top Hospitals
ANN ARBOR, MI —
June 25, 2007 — The Solucient 100 Top Hospitals has been renamed the Thomson 100 Top Hospitals®. The new name was announced at the 2007 100 Top Hospitals Summit, May 8 – 9 at The Venetian, Las Vegas.
Solucient was acquired by the Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), a leading provider of information to professional customers worldwide, in October 2006. Solucient is now a part of Thomson Healthcare, and changing the name of the 100 Top Hospitals program represents another step in the process of integrating Solucient into Thomson Healthcare.
“As we strive to become the most trusted source of information in healthcare, it is important that Thomson Healthcare continues to recognize the highest performing hospitals in the nation through the 100 Top Hospitals program. By continuing to highlight what hospital leaders do best, we raise the bar for hospital performance each year,” said Robert Cullen, president and CEO, Thomson Healthcare.
“Moving forward, the Thomson 100 Top Hospitals will reinforce Thomson Healthcare’s position as a leading source of healthcare information that helps hospitals and healthcare providers set the standards for excellence,” noted Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president, performance improvement and 100 Top Hospitals programs, Center for Healthcare Improvement, Thomson Healthcare.
The 100 Top Hospitals logo and Web site, www.100tophospitals.com, have been updated to reflect the new name.
The 100 Top Hospitals program encompasses three studies: National Benchmarks for Success, Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success, and Performance Improvement Leaders.
