Contract Renewal Extends Thomson Healthcare’s Long-Standing Relationship with University Hospitals

Ann Arbor, Mich. — November 8, 2007 —University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), the nation's largest association of university hospitals and health systems, has signed a new five-year agreement with Thomson Healthcare (NYSE: TOC; TSK: TOC) for its comparative database and benchmarking tool, ACTION-OI®.

Financial and clinical outcomes data from ACTION-OI are used in UHC's Operational Data Base, which allows UHC members to evaluate their performance, compare it to other organizations, and pinpoint opportunities to control costs and improve quality. Currently, 92 UHC organizations participate in their Operational Data Base program.

"ACTION-OI has provided our members tremendous value," said Cindy White, vice president of operations for UHC. "We are eager to continue our long-standing and productive working relationship with Thomson Healthcare and to provide continued value-added support to the UHC membership."

The new contract builds on a 10-year relationship between the two organizations and provides product continuity for UHC members.
